Kubra Rasooli, 14
Community Advisory Board Member
As a schoolgirl in Afghanistan, Kubra had always dreamt of being an Astronaut. Now safely resettled in Canada after being evacuated with the support of 30 Birds in 2021, that dream has been reignited. Along with continuing her studies as an 8th Grader and pursuing hobbies such as badminton, volleyball and dance, she still hopes to study space technology at university and one day become the first ever Afghan astronaut. She hopes her chosen path will inspire other girls who have been marginalised by society to follow their dreams.
In Canada, Kubra is dedicated to supporting girls in Afghanistan, drawing from her own experiences of navigating a society where girls are often marginalized. Her mission is to empower them to overcome challenges and pursue their dreams, ensuring that no girl in Afghanistan feels excluded in her own home and country. Kubra's commitment lies in making a meaningful impact on the lives of these girls, fostering resilience and determination in the face of societal constraints.
